KUNST SALON

An evening of art, conversation and Alpine hospitality

Kunst Salon

An evening of art, converstaion and Alpine hospitality

Once a month, the Schwarzer Adler in Jochberg becomes a salon.

Not a lecture hall, not a gallery opening with polite small talk, but the older, more generous idea of the salon: a room where an artist speaks openly about their work, and where the people listening are close enough to answer back.

VIOVENTI ART and Restaurant Schwarzer Adler have created KUNST SALON as a series of six evenings. Each brings one artistic position into the room – photography, painting, digital art, and the questions that come with them. A conversation, an apéro, and the long Alpine evening that follows.

Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

The format

Doors open at 6 p.m. with an apéro. The conversation begins shortly after and runs for around an hour – an artist talk, moderated, with room for questions from the floor. Afterwards, guests are invited to stay for dinner in the restaurant.

There is no dress code and no ticket. What there is: a private room, good wine, and a subject worth an evening.

In conversation with Helmut Achatz

KUNST SALON opens with one of the most distinctive voices in European photography.

Nomi Baumgartl has spent her working life photographing the fragile relationship between people and the natural world. Her portrait work earned her the description "biographer with a camera"; her images are held in collections including the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, the F.C. Gundlach collection in Hamburg and Camera Work Berlin. In 2016 she received the International B.A.U.M. Environmental Award for her life's work.

She is the initiator of Eagle Wings – Protecting the Alps, a project devoted to the Alps, the glaciers, and what climate change is doing to both, recognised in 2021 with the "Grüner Engel" award by the Bavarian Ministry of the Environment. She is an ambassador for Dolphin Aid and for the Sauti Kuu Foundation, founded by Dr. Auma Obama.

The evening turns on a question she has been circling for decades: what does it take to make people see a landscape they think they already know?

Free admission · Apéro · Dinner optional, reservation recommended

The setting

The Schwarzer Adler sits in the centre of Jochberg, ten minutes from Kitzbühel and a world away from it. A house with a long memory, a proper kitchen and the kind of room where conversations don't end on schedule.

When art becomes a bridge between worlds

We are thrilled to announce the ongoing exhibition “Empathic Avantgarde”, presenting the visionary photo art of Anke Schaffelhuber, curated by Vioventi Art.
Her monumental works merge the serenity of African landscapes with the pulse of global metropolises – visual worlds born of more than 50 journeys to Africa. Each piece invites us to reflect on the contrasts between nature and urbanity, past and future, calm and motion.
